Millennium prepares for Six Nations with help from County Turf
January 2009
County Turf, the Lincolnshire-based supplier of turf to the Millennium Stadium in Wales, has just delivered 28 articulated lorry loads of Sports Greenscape turf to the stadium for a new pitch in preparation for the RBS Six Nations Rugby Championships.
The turf was grown on a sand rootzone and precision harvested. Every layer incorporated the company’s unique plastic wrapping to keep the grass surface clean and in pristine condition. Supplied in 1250mm rolls, the turf took two days to install and had undergone rigorous testing by the STRI to ensure it met stringent selection criteria, including traction, ball bounce, hardness, moisture content and percolation.
